Rubato and Fermata

Rubato and fermata often occur together and are two sides of same coin. Rubato means that there isn't a fixed beat in the music. It is most often used in the beginnings or endings, as in the beginning of 'This Little Light Of Mine'. Rubato in sheets is 'rubato'

Fermata means that a certain chord can be kept for a longer time. One can say that the rubato is a series of chords played fermata. Here is a eksemple on a two chords with fermata in the song 'Amazing Grace' on the word 'blind' and the word 'now' which is held longer. One could also say that the song shortly is played rubato. Fermata is notated above the desired chord.
